Rolex Watches Released in 2013
2013 brought six new or updated watches from Rolex. For many, 2013 was a refinement year for Rolex by adding variations to existing Rolex models. 2013 was not like 2012 where the SkyDweller, an entirely new watch and movement came to reality, or 2008 when the DeepSea was the go to new Rolex watch.
The Cosmograph Daytona 116506
This watch in all 950 platinum is a refinement of the existing Rolex Daytona but includes a chestnut brown Cerachrom bezel, and an ice blue dial that is only found on this watch and the 950 platinum Day-Date. This watch is considered the 50th anniversary edition of the acclaimed Rolex Daytona. Other than being in all platinum, improved Chromalight luminescence on the indices and hands, the watch is very similar to existing Daytona. When released, the 116506 Daytona looks to retail at $75,000
The GMT 116710 BLNR
Is a slight upgrade to the 116710 released back in 2005. The primary differences are the addition of Chromalight in blue rather than in green, and the first bi-colored blue-black ceramic bezel. Utilizing a Rolex patent, Rolex was able to manufacture a two colored, one piece ceramic bezel. Highlighting the blue ceramic bezel is a blue 24 hour hand. The price of the GMT 116710 BLNR expects to be just under $9,000.
The Yacht-Master II 116680
Is a 44mm Yacht-Master II wristwatch, but now available in all 904L stainless steel. Like the GMT II and Daytona releases, the Yacht-Master II is still the same as its previous counterparts, but now available in stainless rather than all gold or two-tone. The Yacht-Master II 116680 looks to be priced at 12,654 Euro or US $16,704
Day-Date Perpetual 118135/118138/118139
In 18ct yellow, white or Everose gold is the same watch as its predecessors, but the 118138 and the 118138 are of the traditional 36mm size, and is available in either green or cognac colored watch face and leather strap. The Everose or white gold models are only available in blue, cherry, chocolate, or rhodium sunray finished dials, with corresponding alligator leather straps. When released, these watches look to be in the US $28,000 range.
Day-Date ‘Sertie’ 118395 BR/118399 BR
Is very similar to the other Day-Date 36mm watches, but contains a carousel of pink or white mother-of-pearl, 18ct white gold set with 217 diamonds with an 18 ct Everose or white gold. The expected price of this watch is unavailable.
Lady-Datejust Pearlmaster 80285
Rolls out in a 29mm case made of 18ct Everose gold with 18ct white gold set with 34 brilliant-cut diamonds. The dial is either white or black mother-of-pearl with a pink-gold lotus flower motif. The Lady-Datejust Pearlmaster bracelet is available with 226 brilliant-cut diamonds or in 18ct Everose gold with a polished finish. The price for this model is also unavailable.
Like with many Rolex watches debuted at BaselWorld in the spring, it is expected that these new Rolex releases start becoming available in the United State usually mid-fall before the holiday buying season.
