SIHH Releases – Pure Watch P*RN
OK, so SIHH, after my taster last week is now officially upon us. Today was the first day and it has already shown some absolute beauties!
I am sure a lot of you out there really do not want to read my drivel about these watches, you would rather SEE them. This post will hopefully give you a bit of a treat for the eyes, and get your bank managers groaning at the amount you want to borrow to fund these! Today I will be specifically focussing on Jaeger-leCoultre as it seems to have some of the nicest releases, covering various styles that really appeal to me.
Master Ultra Thin Grand Feu
This is elegance and simplicity personified. Powered by a hand wound, 19 jewel, 123 part movement which gives a 35 hour power reserve, all fit into a white gold case. Some would say this is the perfect 39mm diameter for a dress watch, I’d certainly agree. The talking point on this watch funnily enough is in fact the dial, finished in a Grand Feu white enamel, gives this a beautifully clean ceramic look finish.
Master Ultra Thin Minute Repeater
At only 7.9mm thin, this watch combines a Minute Repeater complication with a flying tourbillon! In watch nerd speak that is absolutely amazing, and in such a small package too. The tourbillon takes pride of place at six o’clock, all of this ingenuity is protected by 7 separate patents. Limited to only 75 pieces worldwide, better get those credit cards out boys and girls.
Duometre a Quantieme Lunaire
Quite the mouthful, this should indicate to you that this is one complicated watch, and it is. Hours, minutes, seconds, calendar and moon phase, are all powered by two independent power sources. Hence the two separate power reserves on the dial. There does seem to be a bit of a theme this year, as this watch also has the rather magnificent looking Grand Feu white enamel dial. This is one to treasure and admire for its’ technical brilliance.
Master Compressor Chronograph Ceramic
This is probably one of my favourite watches out so far, a super cool looking black ceramic sports watch, which matches a chronograph and also a GMT function. In a large 46mm case, and fitted to a high tech material, which to me looks a bit like nylon. This also features the patented compressions key system that increases the overall reliability of the crown, stopping operational accidents from happening.
Later on in the week, I will share with you my favourites of SIHH, and which I think you should buy. Have fun drooling in the meantime!
